Common use

Ecosprin tablets is used to treat and prevent heart attacks, strokes, and angina (chest pain). It works by preventing blood clots, improving circulation, and supporting heart health. This medication is also used to treat patients after angioplasty to prevent further cardiovascular complications, ensuring long-term heart protection.

Dosage and direction

Take one or two Ecosprin tablets as prescribed by the doctor. Take the Ecosprin tablet with one whole glass of water simultaneously each day. Ecosprin tablet should be taken whole; do not crush, cut or chew the medicine.

Precautions

Use with caution in individuals with asthma, as aspirin can trigger bronchospasm in some patients. Also, caution is advised in people with peptic ulcers, kidney or liver impairment, gout, and bleeding disorders.

Contraindications

The Ecosprin tablet in pregnancy should be avoided during the last trimester. If consumed during this time, NSAIDs like Ecosprin tablets will lead to the closure of the foetal ductus arteriosus. Ecosprin tablets during the pregnancy period will disturb the homeostasis mechanisms of mothers and neonates. Also, the possibility of serious adverse effects with ecosprin is the reason to avoid it in lactating women.
Severe allergic reactions like sudden wheezing, swelling of lips, body, rash, and difficulty in swallowing are caused by allergies due to Ecosprin. Immediately stop the medication. Ecosprin may also lead to allergies in patients sensitive to salicylates and other NSAID’s.
Ecosprin is contraindicated in individuals with active gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers, bleeding disorders such as hemophilia, and those with severe kidney or liver impairment.

Possible side effect

Common side effects of Ecosprin tablet include indigestion, increased bleeding risk, hives, runny nose, and breathing difficulties like shortness of breath or wheezing.

Drug interaction

Avoid taking Ecosprin (aspirin) with other NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen), anticoagulants (warfarin), corticosteroids (prednisone), selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs like sertraline), immunosuppressants (methotrexate), and certain antihypertensives (lisinopril). These combinations may increase the risk of bleeding or reduce aspirin efficacy.

Missed dose

If the dose is missed, then wait until the next dose time. After that, continue as a routine. Do not take a double dose for a forgotten dose.

Overdose

Any dose which is more than the stated dose is an overdose. The early sign of overdose is tinnitus (ringing sensation in the ears). Contact with your doctor.

Storage

Store this medicine at room temperature (15-25ºC) and dry place. Protect it from light and moisture. Keep Ecosprin tablets away from children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date has passed.
